Igama lam uGertrude Nxumalo ngizalwa uSolomon Mkhatshwa Nxumalo ngfuna umdeni wam, they are said to live by Matafin, near the Mbombela Stadium, (not so sure)
I have never seen my father-Solomon, who was a soldier and I hear he once went to Egypt during the World War 2. He once lived in Meadowlands in Soweto by then Meadowlands was a new town in the early 1950s that’s were he met my mother.
They separated by end 50s to early 60s.
I heard that lots of people were relocated when the stadium was being constructed to some places like Malelan etc.
* On this picture, I found with one of the letters my father wrote to my mother. Don’t know who is who or if he is there on it.
By then he wrote this letter based as a soldier at SAS Rand in Wemmer Pan here in Johannesburg
