Season 13 of SABC 1’s long running emo-tainment series Khumbul’ekhaya starts on Wednesday 08 February at 9pm, with new inspirational stories of families reunited. This latest season of Khumbul’ekhaya will boast a new title sequence and theme song and will again be hosted by seasoned presenter Andile Gaelesiwe, who’s become synonymous with the show.
The heartwarming series, which is produced by Urban Brew Studios, celebrates 11 years of being on air later this year. Gaelesiwe says it is humbling to be a part of Khumbul’ekhaya, “The fact that I’m part of something that strives to knit our family fabric back together one family at a time is marvelous. Personally, I have grown in immeasurable ways. ”
Series Producer Lawrence Molepo says Khumbul’ekhaya has become part of many people’s lives, “It has helped thousands of South Africans with healing by bringing them back in contact with their long lost loved ones and we will continue to do so. We value that viewers believe in what we do and the role that we play in bringing families together.”
Molepo explains that viewers can get in touch with the Khumbul’ekhaya team if they’re looking for estranged family members, “If you’d like to make contact with a long lost family member and have some information for the researchers to work with, we’d like to help.”
